One last trip before my hip surgery which is rapidly approaching; we eked out a week for camping before I am housebound for a couple of months. The best weather is usually east of the mountains so that is where we are headed to take advantage of the sunshine for some bike riding. We planned to leave this morning but awoke to a gorgeous sunny day here with a promise of 72 degrees. Sitting on the deck in the morning, soaking up the sun while enjoying our coffee neither one of us could get motivated to pack up and leave so instead we enjoyed the morning and then took a leisurely bike ride on the Sammamish River Trail just over the hill from home. Along the trail there is a park that we have ridden by countless times without stopping. For some reason though, today, George stopped near the park and I wandered up to take a better look at the sculptures that reside in the park but are rarely visited. The sculptor’s name, Dudley Carter, and on this day we took the time to stop and walk around. The work is really quite wonderful and I hope someday you will have a chance to stop for a moment to appreciate the work of this wonderfully talented man, more of his work can be seen in the Redmond Library.
